The Final Stretch

Here are a few final updates before the big departure. It is by no means my first one, but in some respects, it is among the most eventful. I’ll also share a few words about my future plans, as well as... Jenny. 😉

Next week will be my last working from Brussels. From September 20th to October 6th, I’ll take a breather to focus on getting settled in. It’s a vacation of sorts—not a true holiday, perhaps, but something I’m looking forward to nonetheless. Boxes are waiting in my entryway, and—at least in my mind—time stands still.

The condition of the website

Starting the morning of September 20, the site will undergo maintenance to prepare its configuration for the Swiss market. All text will be revised, and three pages currently hidden from the main menu—brief yet useful for SEO in Switzerland—will be integrated into the site as a whole. As always, we will aim to streamline the content somewhat; however, while it has been pointed out to me that the site contains too much information, its very purpose is to relieve the back-office staff of the recurring questions they have always had to handle. We could certainly strip away more information, but the moment the site becomes nothing more than an image gallery, we would see a massive resurgence of inquiries directed at the concierge service—whereas currently, those same answers are available on the site itself, thereby fully justifying its existence.

The online calendar

Meanwhile, the online calendar has already been taken down. It had been left active for a long time despite a jam-packed schedule, because September is the month for cancellations. For some reason, every September sees more cancellations than bookings—or nearly so. The schedule remains just as full, though its layout has undergone a complete overhaul at least twice. But that’s over now; all appointments are booked through the end of the month—or at least until the 19th, once again.

Until now, Calendly handled the link between online bookings and my professional calendar. In Switzerland, however, a different system will be used to ensure extremely strict confidentiality. This is because Calendly’s servers are located in California. It is not that we lack confidence in the privacy policies of the US government (or its major tech firms), but we consider Switzerland far more likely to uphold such standards. That said, the features will be virtually identical to those offered by Calendly.

The projects

My plans are fairly simple. Essentially, the goal is to finalize the implementation of Alix, to grow and build recognition for the "Louise Elite" brand (with that little ™ that makes all the difference), and to officially launch the ESEA (European Standard of Egeria and Elite companionship Agencies) as a certification authority for professionals—whether they are companions (i.e., "escorts") or hostesses (i.e., those who receive clients—making them not technically "escorts," though the distinction matters little), whether working for agencies or independently—as well as for the agencies themselves and the listing platforms for independent professionals.

The ESEA

Until a few months ago, a presentation document for this standard was available for download; it was removed in order to undergo a comprehensive update. It is once again available—despite the site’s imminent closure—and will, of course, remain available on the future version of LouiseElite.agency.

The ESEA manifesto will be available for download in PDF format in a few days, but here is an early preview for those of you reading this: ESEA Manifesto (212.34 KB PDF).

I pin great hopes on this future authority. We shall see what the future holds, but I intend to devote all my energy to this specific project.

The website dedicated to it has already been created, but it is not yet accessible to the public. I am waiting for the strategic moment to launch it.

When I say "for the moment," it is because, initially, it will be accessible solely "for information purposes." Its URL is esea.fyi (fyi = For Your Information). The official site—which is very similar but fully functional and linked to an official legal entity—will be located at esea.ngo, whereas the previous .fyi address will be repurposed to provide information about the organization to the public and the press.

Jenny

My dear Jenny… What would I do without her today? She handles everything and conscientiously answers the messages I receive—even though some people aren’t too happy that I don’t reply personally anymore (though I still do occasionally, when the moment is right). She’s the one keeping things running behind the scenes. She’s a real gem—remarkably kind, yet with a strong personality! 😁

Why am I telling you this? Because I insisted on giving a name to the woman behind the "Louise Elite Agency Service" communications—she is now the client relations manager for my concierge service (a somewhat pompous title, perhaps, but one that makes perfect sense in the Swiss context). But the main reason for this decision—which meant nudging Jenny a bit, as she would have much preferred to stay in the background—was the tendency for people to mistake her for an AI; she hates that, and I can certainly see why. It completely dehumanizes her. I was recently contacted by the co-founder of a very "high-tech"—and seemingly quite prestigious—platform for independent escorts, inviting me to open an account there. Let’s call him Mr. R. He personally invites the women to join his platform, and those who aren't invited but apply on their own initiative are apparently hand-picked.

The story

His email went unanswered for a few days because I tend to brush off these kinds of proposals, which led Mr. R to follow up a few days later. Jenny saw the two pending emails and took it upon herself to reply, letting him know I wasn’t interested. It seemed to me that he was connected to an agency that had also invited me to join—an invitation I had made the mistake of accepting (which is partly why I founded ESEA). However, after Jenny’s negative reply explaining my refusal, Mr. R denied having any affiliation with that agency and outlined the benefits of being listed among the professionals they represent. Jenny and I discussed it, and she expressed a positive view on joining them—provided we knew more, specifically the source of the information that led him to reach out to me. So, Jenny wrote back saying that, given his clarifications, I might consider signing up, while also asking where he had heard about me. Most online services ask how clients found them; there’s nothing unusual about that. But our man took offense, declaring that he refused to keep talking to an AI!

Go figure on what basis he considered Jenny to be that way.

Here is the anonymized copy of Mr. R’s message to Jenny:

« Hi Jenny,

To answer your question, we regularly research independent companions across Europe who we believe could be a good fit for XXX, and that is how Louise came to our attention.

I would prefer not to continue a back-and-forth conversation through an AI or automated concierge service.

We’ve explained what XXX is and the invitation to Louise stands. She can review the platform and decide for herself whether she would like to join.

If she does, she is very welcome and can use the invitation we sent. If not, that is of course perfectly fine as well.

There’s nothing further needed from our side at this point.

Best regards.«

A bit aggressive, isn’t it?!

Here is Jenny’s reply:

« Hello,

Very well; as I mentioned, we will discuss this with Louise (and no, I am not an AI—a common assumption about me that I don’t quite understand. This service involves no automation, which is why we don’t reply overnight. Perhaps you might want to verify the facts before unilaterally deciding that people are computer programs).

And what about you—are you an AI? You never know…

We will send you a request if Louise deems it appropriate, but I am also her communications strategy advisor, so I will have a say in the matter. Please forgive me for asking about your sources of information regarding us.

Best regards.«

But our good friend Mr. R didn’t stop there. He went and questioned LEa—our chatbot—to get confirmation that Jenny was indeed an AI! He wouldn’t budge on that point for a moment.

Here is his conversation with Lea. I’ll let you be the judge…

I don’t know what they did to him, but it certainly seems like Mr. R has a real problem with AIs… I came very close to becoming one myself 😅. That said, he hasn’t met me, so there’s still room for doubt. 😉

Still, to avoid the repetition of this experience, unpleasant for Jenny, I had to put her forward a little with her surname following her first name, and her photo in the emails and on the “Contact” page, but the most skeptical will always be able to see an image created by AI if they want. As the wisest among us say, people only see what they want to see... It's so true the other way around too.

Conclusion

That brings this exceptionally long post to a close. It is true that it had been a long time since I last wrote one, and there is a lot to tell. If I ever write my memoirs, it will be a three-volume work—and the movie made from it, a trilogy! I like to think big.

Now, my moving boxes await, and new adventures lie ahead. I still have one more video to shoot for the YouTube channel—a testimonial to share. By the end of August, the channel had reached over 6,000 total views, despite my not posting regularly. So, the audience is there. But when the new video comes out, I’ll announce it via my main channels (at the very least, the newsletter and SMS).

Goodbye, Brussels…
